London Day 3 and 4

Published February 26, 2014 by iwouldlikeacupoftea

The third day it was time for shopping at Oxford street! We spent most of the day shopping and no one (except me) cares about what I bought, so I’ll do day 3 and 4 together. Warning, lots and lots of pictures.

Outfit with my new shoes from Primark, they aren’t the most comfortable but they look adorable.

We were there quite early, so luckily it wasn’t too busy. Oxford street had a lot of good shops, and my friend and I popped into most of them. So much for my no shopping policy..

That evening we went to chinatown with all the Norwegian students to have a meal together.

We ate a good Chinese meal with chopsticks. Let’s just say it was both challenging and funny.

Day 4 it was time to go to 221b baker street to see where Sherlock Holmes lived. As a big Sherlock fan I basically forced my friends to come with me (Just kidding, I do believe they wanted to come).

Let’s just say we got lost. If you’ve been to 221b baker street, you would know it’s easy to find. I knew which station we had to go to and we did that part right. After that it’s pretty much a straight line and you will find it without a problem. We tried using a map to navigate, but I have to admit that my sense of direction is awful and reading maps isn’t my strength. I don’t even know what we were doing. We walked in circles and way off into the wrong direction several times. Some of our friends had already been there earlier that morning, so we called them for directions and finally found that.

The queue was insane. If we had gotten there when we had meant to the queue probably would be less than half the size, but after almost 2 hours of hopelessly wandering around London a lot of people had gathered outside. The wait wasn’t too bad actually, even though it lasted for an hour and a half.

When we finally got to go inside, we soon discovered it was worth the wait. It was awesome! unfortunately my camera decided to stop working and only took blurry pictures, so I had to use my phone. Most of them are still decent enough, but they aren’t in any particular order.

I sat in both Sherlock and Watson’s chair and it was great. Also wearing the hat looks extremely stupid if you are wearing your hair up, just a warning so you don’t make the same mistake as I did. Still a good moment. Nerd life is the best life, I promise.

Not the best picture, but some important Sherlock objects.

There was a book where we got to sign our names, and I always love these things. It’s interesting to see how many people visit and where they come from.

Sherlock Holmes portrayed in slightly (or extremely) creepy wax figures who seemed too real.

The Sherlock Holmes Museum was very interesting and fun to see as a fan. It was worth the long line and there is plenty to look at!
It rained when we came back out again (trust me, we were in there for a long time), and the line outside had gotten even longer. That’s dedication.

My friends and I went to Fashion street for a vintage fair/shops, and then had coffee to get some much needed rest. Of course we soon had to be off again, as we had a planned theater evening with the other students.

I saw Woman in Black and although it absolutely terrified me, it was really good. The acting was great and the effects were awesome. I screamed a few times, but luckily I wasn’t the only one.
